A successful 3rd Annual Amateur Cornhole Tournament!

March 27, 2026

Fundraising Goal: $5,000

Funds Raised: over $8,400

On the night of Friday, March 27th we had a full house at the Stavely Community Centre for our free practice night, loaded with laughter and fun.

Saturday morning, we started at 10AM with our round robin tournament. We had 43 adult and 7 junior energetic and amazing teams that played four games each. The Juniors games were held on the stage and those kids had some amazing skills! The kids played until 1PM until the winners were called.

First place The BoBo Squad – Easton Martin & Rowan Nienaber
Second Place: The Stinkers – Asher Nienaber & Hadley Pearce
Third Place: The Palobinos – Logan Anderson & Brooke Anderson.

After our round robin and lunch, contestants had the opportunity to play a fun competition game called Pile Up. Your bag had to land on the board and you could get back in line, if it fell off or went in the hole, you were out. The winner was Tyler Wideman and 2nd place went to Quintin Fisher.

Teams then were put into their respectful tiers based on wins and losses from the round robin, and competed for the top 3 spots in the Cob and Husk tiers. It was an intense few games, but the winners were finally announced.

Corn Tier
First Place: Hammer Time – Doug Nelson & Mike Henker
Second Place: 2 Corns 1 Hole – Greg Martin & Matt Haaland
Third Place: Corn on the Nob – Matt & Melissa Nienaber

Casino Royale Fall Fundraiser Gala

November 22

Fundraising Goal: $25,000

Funds Raised: $13,500

Our 1920’s themed casino night was the bee’s knees!

The doors to the hall opened at 6:30pm and back into 1920. The décor, borrowed from The Fleming family and JT Foster High School, was reminiscent of that era with tables of crystal decanters, pearls and framed black & white pictures of actors and actresses, a mugshot wall lined with black & white printouts of the worst thieves of the era and a large yellow prop car that Foundation Coordinator, Chantel Scott made. The cherry on top…all our wonderful guests who arrived dressed up, even those who didn’t had the smiles and party in them!

Alberta Fun Money Casino brought game tables of Poker, Roulette, Craps, Plinko, Crown & Anchor, Chuck-A-Luck, Blackjack, and Texas Hold’em filling the end of the hall. As guests arrived, they each received a $1,000 fun money voucher, which they could take to any table to change out for chips. If they wanted to switch tables, the dealer would exchange the chips for fun money cards. When the money ran out, each guest could play Plinko and where ever the chip landed they got the equivalent fun money. If they were racking up a ton of cash, and were talking 10’s of thousands, they could visit the pit boss to change it in for prize tickets. Best party was that all the games didn’t cost our guests any real money. Even if you managed to lose $250,000, you were still a winner. At the end of the night, tickets were drawn for the prizes donated by Butte Ridge Custom Hauling, DeeDee Linn, Creative Industries and the Foundation.

We changed things up this year by removing our regular sit down meal with a massive hors d’oeuvres spread. No one went away hungry! There was so much food, all thanks to 2 Smoke 4 U BBQ by Gord Guitton and Terry Linn.

Music filled the hall, helping set our theme perfectly by John DeDominicis. Specialty prohibition cocktails flowed from the bar by the lovely ladies, Martina, Michelle & Sharon of the Claresholm Arts Society. They served up drinks like the Casino Royale, Lady Luck, Dirty Doctor, Side Car and French 75. They all were a bit strong, leaving some of us a bit zozzled, but we worked out the recipe kinks and got them perfect!

Together we raised $13,500 toward local healthcare!!

3rd Annual Aden's Run

August 10, 2025

We had over 60 participants, and a few dogs, who walk/ran on Kin Trail to raise awareness for Mental Health and at-risk teens, in memory of Aden Lunn. We started out our day with registration and each participant received a raffle ticket for door prizes that were given out after the run. Nathan, Aden’s father, gave words of thanks and encouragement, along with our Executive Director, Chantel Scott. It was a warm, beautiful morning to walk the 2-mile pathway.

3rd Annual Golf Tournament

July 11, 2025

Fundraising Goal: $7,000

Funds Raised: over $7,600

We hit the course at Bridges at Claresholm Golf Club on a hot and windy day to tackle 18 holes with a shotgun start at 10AM. Twenty-eight teams competed for their chance to be one of the 4 top teams and the two $10,000 Hole In Ones sponsored by Servus Credit Union and Foothills Ford and to give back to our local healthcare.

Our Foundation Coordinator, Chantel Scott, had the pleasure of being the eyes for the Foothills Fords Hole in One on hole 17, right off the water. Multiple Mulligans were also used as she watched and held on tightly to the canopy tent, that was pushing to take flight. Before moving on to hole 18, each player had the chance to guess how many tees were in a container. Guesses ranged from 50 to 600 with the finally tally at 155 and the winner was Matt Neinaber at 156.

Our Chairman, Roxanne Thompson was a bit more sheltered on Hole 8 watching Servus Credit Unions Hole in One. The same bad luck was at that hole as well, that wind was relentless.

As teams finished the course they were welcomed back to the Clubhouse for a rib dinner, several silent auction items like a Yeti Cooler, Rigid wet/dry vacuum, gift baskets and gift certificates. Board Member, DeeDee Linn, ran a fun square raffle with first prize being an Aqua Marina Glow Paddleboard won by Shannon Sanders, second prize a putter won by Brandy Mclean and third prize a wedge won by Ray Montpetit. Our 50/50 portion was $670, won by Al Akins.

All week long, when you came for a meal at the Clubhouse, the manager Darryl had a sweet mini golf bag cooler and a flat of beer for a raffle, with all proceeds going toward the Foundation. The lucky winner was one of our golfers, Glenn Ring.

We finished up the day with an intense chip off, with several teams that had tied, then announced the winners.

1st Place Team – Dylan Rhodes, Sarah Armstrong, Denton Wigemyer, Kent Arsenault
2nd Place Team – Byron Hall, Wylie Shearer, Bob & Peggy Christie
3rd Place Team – Bev Gallimore, Ben Young, Amanda Gallimore, Ian Wietz
4th Place Team – Greg & Karli Martin, Matt & Melissa Nienaber
