With the combined efforts of Lyle & The Bridges at Claresholm Golf Club, the Claresholm & District Health Foundation was elated at how great the tournament ran after a few years away.

At noon, the clubs hit the ball and began our day in the scorching heat! Eighteen mixed teams chased their best ball around 18 holes.

Thankful for the personally labelled water bottles donated by Clear Lake Colony, our golfers could grab one from the ice/water trough donated by UFA and drink it down at Hole 1. However, from the window at the clubhouse, the view showed a different picture. Some rather different ideas that our golfers chose to get refreshed, due to the 36C temperature, like dunking their heads in the freezing trough, others splashed the ice bath on their faces and legs, or one great lady decided to lay right out across the cool trough.

Hole 8 is where they would be greeted by the wonderful Jeana Arkes from ATB Financial Claresholm, cross their fingers and hope to land the Hole-In-One taking home the $10,000 prize!!! Sadly, everyone needs to keep practicing and we will see that money return next year when we host the tournament again.

Finishing in about 4 ½ hours, teams returned to the clubhouse for supper, refreshments, silent auction bidding, 50/50 and prizes! Mulligan tickets were purchased before the teams headed out and we think they are all glad that was an option. Prizes included Longest Drive, Longest Putt, and Closest to the Pin for both men & women as well as the Mulligans. They were handed out and drawn after supper as well as our 50/50 for $405 which was won and graciously donated back by Byron Hall.
